Nightfall's Nest: Basement

Xellos the stoic

So. He's just gotten creamed, he's about to get creamed some more, he knows it, and yet he continues to be a smartass. To Gaav. What is this, he's a glutton for punishment?

Oh, what NOW?

Actually... doesn't really look like that way, does it? He's about to get creamed and he knows it, and he's going to keep on sassing the Chaos Dragon because it's his job. Keeping the enemy talking while they give more information than they get is pretty clearly a specialty of his. This is duty, not pleasure.

Which is not to say that he won't use his pain tolerance frivolously. After he tricks Zel into wasting some more time looking for the Claire Bible and is found out (and let me take the opportunity to to point out that, as usual, he makes absolutely no effort to avoid being found out), he gets toasted--

Whew!

--and is remarkably sporting about it.

And why not? Every good general knows it: morale must be kept up, and the troops must be entertained. Xellos and his complete lack of shame put on a good show.
